Three Crawford officers injured in meth bust

Three Crawford County officers were injured during a search of a Marion home connected to a meth lab investigation Monday afternoon.

The officers were part of the Crawford County Special Response Team, which also consisted of officers and paramedics from the police and fire departments in Galion and Bucyrus, who executed a search warrant at 1455 State Route 294 in Marion.

Officers seized numerous items and chemicals related to the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and a firearm, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. Two officers suffered chemical exposure from the lab items and a third officer suffered a dog bite while at the scene. All three were treated and released from Bucyrus Community Hospital.

Stacey A. Jones, 43, and Alfonso M. Villavicencio Jr., 33, who were the residents at the home are charged with illegal manufacture of drugs, a first degree felony. They are being held at Crawford County jail.

The Dallas Township Fire Department, Crawford County Emergency Management Agency, METRICH and the Ohio BCI Clandestine Lab Response Team, who also assisted the team at the scene.
