Former U.S. treasury secretary to speak at Galion Historical Society event March 31

GALION The Galion Historical Society will welcome special guest speaker, Mary Ellen Winthrow, the 40th Treasurer of the United States, on Sunday, March 31 at 2 p.m. in the Historic Grace Church, 130 W. Walnut St. Withrow will speak about her time as treasurer during the Clinton administration, from 1994-2001.

During her tenure, Withrow was influential in the redesign of the $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 dollar bills that officially went to mint in 1999. Withrow is the only person to hold the office of treasurer at all three local, state, and national levels. This program is free, no reservations are required, and all are welcome.
