“Damsel in Defense” program Sept. 11 at Crestline library

CRESTLINE — Crestline Public Library is hosting a “Damsel in Defense” program, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. at the library, 324 N. Thoman St.

Lauri Perdue, an independent Damsel consultant, will present a program that is designed to equip, empower and educate women to protect themselves and their families.

Damsel offers these statistics as to why attend this program:

  • College-aged women are four times more likely to be assaulted than other women;
  • One in five women are survivors of rape;
  • One in three women experience domestic violence;
  • Seventuy percent of sexual assaults occur before the age of 17;
  • A violent crime occurs every 26 seconds.

The “Damsel in Defense” program offers many safety products that participants may purchase, while attending the program. Registration is required. Call the library at 419-683-3909 or stop in to register.
