Canoeing lessons at Neff Reservoir

BUCYRUS — On Aug. 26 at 10 a.m., join Crawford Park District Naturalists Lisa and Josh for a morning paddle around the Neff Reservoir. Learn some canoeing basics and take to the water. Viewing the Night Sky program

LEESVILLE — On Saturday, Aug. 26 9 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park, join members of the Lowe-Volk Astronomy Club as they share their knowledge and telescope skills with all who are interested in the celestial sights. Sky targets for the summer include our largest planets, Jupiter and Saturn. Bring your own telescope or allow the volunteers to assist you with those provided.

Learn about nature’s wacky and weird

LEESVILLE — On Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.mm at Lowe-Volk Park come to the Nature Center where there will be talk of regurgitation, defecation and other body phenomenon. This program is suitable for school age and up. For more information contact the Crawford Park District office at 419-683-9000.

Wild Wednesday at Lowe-Volk Park

LEESVILLE — This program is Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Come to the Nature Center and enjoy an hour of nature exploration. Program topics will vary and may include a story, short hike, craft, or a visit from an animal. This program is designed for pre-schoolers and their parents. Come dressed for the weather.

Learn about Asters at Unger Park

BUCYRUS — On Aug. 30, at 7 p.m., go to 1303 Bucyrus-Nevada Road where you will have a chance the beautiful, but often difficult to identify the different types of Asters that are found in area woodlands and fields.

Singing insect tour of downtown Bucyrus

BUCYRUS — Just because you walk/live in town, doesn’t mean that nature is absent. This is the time of year that singing insects,really get vocal.. Join Crawford Park District Naturalist Josh Dyer for a casual stroll through Bucyrus to listen and learn about the ticks, trills, and shuffles that emanate from your lawn, shrubs, and tree tops.
