Aug. 15

COMMUNITY OUTREACH MEAL — Christ United Methodist Church will have a community outreach meal Aug. 15, from 4:30-6 p.m., or until the food runs out. This meal will be served at the Boy Scout cabin in East Park.Church members will grill hot dogs and bratwurst to go along with baked beans, salads and cookies. There is no charge for the meal.

BULLET JOURNALING WORKSHOP — Galion Public Library will host a Bullet Journaling Beginners Workshop on Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m in the community room. Space is limited for this free event. Registration is required. Call 419-468-3203 or visit the main circulation desk for information.

ADULT ED OPEN HOUSE — Pioneer Career and Technology Center Adult Education will have an open house Aug. 16, from 6-8 p.m. Explore career options, meet the instructors, tour the labs, and discover how Pioneer can help prepare you for a rewarding career, in less than a year. Programs include Welding Technology, State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) , Medical Office Coding and Basic CNC Operator. BOARD OF ELECTIONS MEETING — The Crawford County Board of Elections will meet Aug. 17 at 9:30 a.m. to conduct regular business and to certify nominating petitions for the General Election. The meeting is at the board office, at 112 E. Mansfield St., Bucyrus.

PARK DISTRICT MEETING — The Crawford Park District Board of Park Commissioners will have their monthly meeting Aug. 17 at 7:30 a.m. at the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center.

Aug. 19

SCAVENGER HUNT FUN RUN — at Church of the Nazarene, 777 Fairview Ave., on Aug. 19. The run is sponsored by the Galion Nazarene Caravan. Entry fee is $25 per team. Registration and check-in starts at 2 p.m. The competition starts at 3 p.m. This is for teams of 2-4 people, who will spend the afternoon riding around Crawford, Richland and Morrow counties taking pictures and collecting points. Return to the starting point by 8 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at 9 p.m. Proceeds will be used to buy books and materials for the Caravan classes and associated ministries. Caravan is a Christian scout-like program for children ages 3 to sixth grade. For information, call 330-614-4614.

LIBRARY TRUSTEES — The Galion Public Library Board of Trustees will meet at 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21 in the library’s board room.

COMMUNITY MEAL — Trinity Lutheran Church, 291 N. Union St., Galion will serve its free community meal on Aug. 24. Doors open at 4:45 p.m.

Aug. 26

ICE CREAM SOCIAL — Johnsville Grace United Methodist Church will have its annual Ice Cream Social on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 4:30-7 p.m. Featured will be a full menu of home cooked foods, including sandwiches, noodles, baked beans, salads, pies, cakes, ice cream and drinks. A freewill donation will be collected.

Aug. 27

CONTROLLED HUNT LOTTERY — The Crawford Park District will have a lottery for the Sandusky Wildlife Area, Sears Woods State Nature Preserve and Carmean Woods State Nature Preserve on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. You must attend to be eligible. Call the park district at 419-683-9000 for information.

COFFEE AND COLORING AT THE CANDI BAR —Galion Public Library will host Coffee and Coloring at the Candi Bar on Aug. 30 from 5-7 pm. Coloring pages and colored pencils will be provided. GHS CLASS OF CLASS OF 1972 REUNION — There are all kinds of vents scheduled: Putt-putt golf and fishing Wednesday; football game Friday; Golf on Saturday morning and the actual reunion Saturday night at the Galion Moose lodge. GALION SCHOOLS PUBLIC MEETING — Galion City Schools will have a general public meeting to discuss the planning of Federal Program Grants including IDEA-B and Title I funds for the use of special education and programming services.The meeting will be during the Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. regular school board meeting, at Galion Middle School.
