GALION — Galion City Schools has announced its annual open house event for the coming school year. The first day of school is Aug. 21.

This open house is Thursday, Aug. 17, and has been designed to give students and their families the opportunity to meet teachers, get acclimated with buildings and prepare for the new school year. Students and their families are encouraged to bring their school supplies to the classroom during the open house events.

Each school will have it’s own open house.

Galion Primary and Intermediate School

• Preschool, kindergarten, third-grade students: 4-4:45 p.m.
• First-, second-, fourth- and fifth-grade students: 4:45-6 p.m.

Class rosters at each building will be available beginning at 8 a.m. Aug. 11

Galion Middle School

• Seventh- and eighth-grade: 5-6:30 p.m.
• Sixth Grade: 6:30-8 p.m.

Galion High School

• Freshmen: 6-8 p.m. (freshmen will pick up their devices)

Students with signed Acceptable Use Policy forms can pick up their devices at these times:

• Grades 10, 11 and 12 — Aug. 16 and Aug 18, from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
• Grades 3-8 — The week of Aug. 21 .
