Topia Boutique moving to Galion’s square

GALION — Sisters Amanda Wiggins and Melissa Cornwell are on the move.

In less than a year, their downtown Galion business has outgrown its current location.

The sisters opened the Topia Boutique last spring. Cornwell said their lease is up June 1 on the space that houses their popular clothing shop at 242 Harding Way East.

“We are heading up to the square,” said Cornwell.

Renovations are underway at 101 Harding Way East, the location the sisters will move the business to by mid-May, with a grand re-opening being planned for June.

“We have about 500 square feet at our current location and we have simply outgrown the space. The new store will give us about 1,900 square feet. We want to expand our offerings,” said Wiggins.

Both sisters said the past year has given them the knowledge and experience to know what Galion and Crawford County residents want and need from their shop.

“We want to have something for everyone. We had to learn who everyone was in the Galion-Crawford County area,” said Wiggins.

Cornwell said they will begin by adding children’s clothing.

“We want moms to be able to come in and shop for themselves as well as their children,” Cornwell said.

Wiggins said the addition of cross-generational clothing will offer women of all ages fashion options.

“We will be offering clothing options from small to plus sizes. We want to offer something for every woman that comes through our door,” said Cornwell.

Cornwell said the stretch goal for the new store to open is May 19.

“We are planning an open house for that date and a grand re-opening in June,” Cornwell said.

Wiggins said the new spring and summer store hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
