Knights of Columbus Lenten fish dinner

GALION The Knights of Columbus is planning three Lenten fish dinners in 2017. They will be at the St. Joseph Activity Center, 115 N. Liberty St., on Friday 10, Friday, March 24; and Friday, April 7. Dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. on each date. Dine or carry-out. All are welcome.

Knitting lessons at Galion Alliance Church

GALION — Beginning March 4, a ladies knitting class is being offered by Galion Alliance Church, 430 Portland Way North, on Saturdays, from 1-3 p.m. Learn to knit a basic scarf for a child or woman. There is no charge, but bring a pair of No. 8 or No.9 knitting needles and a skein of knitting worsted weight yard, any color you choose. For information, call the church at 419-468-4553.

Optometrist to speak at next Men’s Breakfast

BUCYRUS — Dr. Ken Gortz, an optometrist, who also has been involved with Gideons International for 13 years, will be the guest speaker at the March 8 Men’s Breakfast in the cafeteria at Bucyrus Community Breakfast. The program begins at 7 a.m. and is sponsored by Woodlawn United Methodist Church and Pastor Tom Gruver. Bring a friend, the public is welcome.

St. Paul UMC food pantry open March 18

GALION — St. Paul United Methodist Church, 746 Cherry St., Galion, will open its food pantry on March 18 from 9-11 a.m. The food pantry is open he third Saturday of each month. This is for Galion residents only. (Please bring a photo ID and proof of residency (phone, utility bill etc.)

‘Saturday Night Alive’ every week at First United Church of Christ

GALION — “Saturday Night Alive” is now happening at First United Church of Christ at 5 p.m. every Saturday. It is a casual and contemporary worship service with dinner afterward. Come celebrate the love and joy.
