High school artwork on display at Brush & Palette Art Gallery

GALION — The artwork of Crestline High School students is on display at the Brush & Palette Art Gallery’s first special invitation high school show.

Students taking part in this special show are Kaitlyn Greer, Kelsey Stone, Samantha Schneider, and Frances Clark.

Greer’s piece called Metamorphose Cheval won the Best of Show award. It a very large, very striking triptych painting on a door featuring three versions of a horse’s head.

The art was judged by retired art teacher Carol Kable, who awarded ribbons in each category with a Best of Show award of $50.

The winners and their categories are:

Frances Clark, first in ceramics, Kelsey Stone, second in ceramics,

Samantha Schneider, first in drawing,

Kaitlyn Greer, first in painting, Samantha Schneider, second in painting, Kelsey Stone, third in painting.

Kaitlyn Greer, first in mixed media.

The High School Student’s Show will be featured at the gallery through the end October. It closes Sunday, Nov. 6, with an artists’ reception from 2-4 .pm.

Anyone wishing to view these creative pieces may come to the Brush and Palette Art Gallery at 114 Harding Way East (rear) in Galion. They gallery is across the alley from the parking lot of Galion Public Library

Gallery hours are Thursday-Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.

The gallery also regularly features its members’ artwork, which are on exhibit and for sale each month.

Diane Bell was in charge of the first high-school art show.

And she expects more entries as the art show continues in future years.
