BUCYRUS – If you want action then ride the wind all the way to Dillinger’s Entertainment Center and Restaurant in Bucyrus on Nov. 17 to have nothin’ but a good time by taking in a performance of Bret Michaels.
A rock star since the 1980s when his band, Poison, rose to international fame, Michaels will be performing in Bucyrus as part of his latest tour, “The Party Starts Now.”
Excitement is building as local Facebookers have been passing around a video of Michaels in which he says, “Bucyrus, Ohio. It is Bret Michaels and I am coming Thursday, Nov. 17 for a very insane, special show.” Michaels said he will be performing all of the Poison hits, along with his solo hits, during the much-anticipated event.
Some of the most famous Poison hits include, “Nothin’ but a Good Time,” “Talk Dirty to Me,” “Ride the Wind,” “I Want Action,” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”
Michaels has also starred on the VH1 series, “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” and “Rock of Love Bus.” Michaels was diagnosed with type one diabetes when he was 6-years-old and is a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association.
Shawn Ridgeway, owner of Dillinger’s, said he worked with local music connections Shane Grove and David Wade to set up the event.
“We are very proud to host these events, they are very hard to put together but ultimately worth it to create great entertainment for Crawford and surrounding counties,” Ridgeway said. “Offering big things in a small community is the best feeling to me and the artists enjoy the small town we love as well.”
Opening bands Chase Beaire, Perfectly Damaged and Roxy Mae will start playing at 7 p.m. with Michaels taking the stage around 9:30 p.m.
General admission tickets for the event are $65 and VIP tickets are $109. VIP doors open at 5 p.m. and general admission ticket holders will start coming in at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at showclix.com and at Dillinger’s by calling 419-562-0114 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
