William and Mary Ellen Heacock recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Heacock and the former Mary Ellen Bopp were married July 24, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crestline. The Rev. John Sherbno officiated for the ceremony.
The couple has two sons, Mark (Carolyn) of Crestline and Michael (Angie) of Willard, and six grandchildren, Maureen of Crowton, Maryland; Alex (Sara) of New London; Phillip and Kevin of Monroeville; Veronica of Chicago and Allison of Crestline. The couple has one great grandchild, Amanda Marie born to Alex and Sara on April 22, 2015.
Both Heacocks are retired. William spent a total of 40 years in the military, primarily at the Ohio Air National Guard of Mansfield. Both are active in their Church and Mary Ellen, a member of North End Garden Club will serve a two year term as Regional Director of Region 7 of The Ohio Association of Garden Clubs, Inc.
They planned a 50th wedding anniversary celebration with renewal of their marriage vows at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Deacon Julius Fritz with a reception hosted by the couple and their children will follow the service.
