CRESTLINE — Mid Ohio Flag Football League wrapped up its spring season on Sunday. MOFFL held a seven-team single-elimination tournament bases on season records. In the end, Specialist captured the championship with a 14-6 win over Empire.

“The MOFFL has been around for going on three amazing years now at the old Hutson Stadium,” said organizer Kristopher Landin. “We entered the 2022 year this spring with eight teams ranging from Columbus, Mount Vernon, and some of our own local teams.”

In quarterfinals matchups, Specialist beat Carnage, then Niners defeated Bombsquad. The last matchup of that round was Empire taking down La Familia.

The first semifinal game had Specialists downing Outcast. Empire was able to advance to the championship game with a win over the Niners team.

Specialist came up from Columbus to grab the spring MOFFL title.

“I’d like to wish a congratulations to the Columbus Specialists on winning a hard fought championship game and bringing home the rings and the prize money,” Landin said.

Teams from other parts of Central Ohio were successful, despite not taking home the hardware. It was an overall good season for the league.

“Congratulations as well to all of our prize winners. Huge thanks and appreciation to everyone who participated and took part in the MOFFL once again,” Landin spoke.

“I look forward to our Summer session starting soon in Mid July! We would love to get more local team in the MOFFL.”

MOFFL plays on Sundays, and is made up of many former high school and college football players.
