GALION — The 2022 Pickle Run Festival is set to run on July 1-2 on Heise Park Lane. The festival will feature multiple events the community can enjoy. On July 2, there will be fireworks, food and plenty of fun. Also, there will be a car show, live music, a parade, and much more.

Galion’s Pickle Run started in 1978 as a fundraiser for the Galion Booster Club. It was held in Heise Park on Labor Day weekend each year. The festival is named after a creek that once ran through town. Local legend says that a grocer pitched bad pickles in the creek back in the 1890s, the name stuck.

Sporting events include a basketball tournament, an alumni softball game, and a sand volleyball tournament. The details are shared below including sign-up information.
