Oct. 18

Police investigated a case of alleged theft that was reported in the 300 block of South Columbus Street. Business owner told police their facility was broken into and a welder and a safe were stolen. Police took information for a report.

Police arrested a male subject on suspicion of domestic violence and obstruction of official business after responding to an alleged domestic dispute that was reported in the 100 block of North Riblet Street. Police took information for a report.

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence in the 100 block of Clymer Street. Resident told police she was fine. Caregiver who was staying with her confirmed everything was fine.

Police issued notification to a male subject that a female subject was being released from the Crawford County Jail. Crawford County Sheriff’s Office requested Galion Police make the notification.

Police investigated a case of alleged theft that was reported in the 200 block of Grant Street. Resident told police that unknown subject stole the license plates off of their vehicle. Police took information for a report.

Police executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of South Union Street. There was no report of any arrests being made at the location.

Police issued notification to a female subject that a male subject was being released from the Crawford County Jail. Crawford County Sheriff’s Office requested Galion Police make the notification.

Police conducted a standby for a resident to remove belongings from a residence on Sixth Avenue. Standby was completed without incident.

Police seized vaping paraphernalia from two juveniles in the 300 block of South Market Street. Police contacted the juveniles’ parents.

Police issued a verbal warning for disorderly conduct to a female subject and issued a verbal warning for disorderly conduct and drug abuse to a male subject after responding to a report of a fight in the 800 block of Harding Way East.

Police seized marijuana from two subjects who were smoking in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 200 block of Portland Way North. Police issued warnings to both subjects.

Police arrested a female subject on suspicion of disorderly conduct after responding to a call about an intoxicated person at a restaurant in the 200 block of Portland Way North. Police transported the female subject to the Crawford County Jail.

Oct. 19

Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the 400 block of Hensley Avenue. A female subject was injured in the crash. Police took information for a report. The female subject was later taken into custody at Galion Community Hospital after causing a disturbance there.

Police investigated a case of alleged vandalism that was reported at a business in the 800 block of South Street. Police took information for a report.

Police investigated a report of a juvenile at Galion High School who was allegedly in possession of a taser or stun gun. Police took information for a report.

Police issued a citation to a female subject for illegally passing a school bus in the vicinity of South Street and Libby Lane.

Police responded to a single-vehicle crash that was reported in the 900 block of Hosford Road. No injuries were reported. Police took information for a report.

Oct. 20

Police investigated a report of a suspicious male subject dressed in black who was standing in the roadway in the 800 block of Bucyrus Road. Police made contact with the male subject and advised him to stay out of the road.

Police investigated a case of alleged theft that was reported in the 300 block of Third Avenue. A male subject told police that his wallet was missing. Police took information for a report.

Police investigated a report of a deer that was stuck inside a fenced-in enclosure in the vicinity of South Riblet Street and Dawsett Avenue. The deer was able to escape the enclosure without injury.

Police investigated a report of a suspicious person in the 1400 block of State Route 598. The male subject left the area in a red and white ambulance with no markings, heading south out of the city on State Route 61.

Police issued warnings for violation of the open burning regulations to two residents in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street.

Police investigated a case of alleged domestic violence that was reported in the 100 block of North Columbus Street. A female subject was allegedly assaulted at that location. Police were attempting to obtain video footage of the alleged incident from businesses in the vicinity.

Police investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the 700 block of Harding Way West. No injuries were reported. The two motorists exchanged information. Police took information for a report.

Police investigated a report of an alleged dispute between property owners on Baeher Street. Police advised the two parties to stay off of each other’s property and to avoid contact with each other.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for driving with an expired operator’s license after responding to a report of a hit-skip crash that occurred in the 100 block of North Columbus Street. No injuries were reported.

Police issued a warning for domestic violence to a male subject following an altercation in the lobby of Galion Community Hospital. The male subject left the hospital.

Police investigated a report of a dog attack in the 300 block of Orchard Court. Individual told police she was walking her dog when a pitbull attacked and mauled her dog. Police took information for a report.

Police investigated a report of a domestic dispute between two female subjects in the 400 block of Sherman Street. Police took information for a report.

Police issued a warning to a resident for allowing his dog to run at large in the 500 block of Sherman Street.

Police K-9 assisted the Bucyrus Police Department on a traffic stop in the vicinity of East Charles Street and Lane Street in Bucyrus. K-9 made a positive indication on a suspicious substance in the vehicle. Bucyrus Police seized the suspicious substance. Galion Police took information for a report.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for possession of illegal drugs and a turn signal violation following a traffic stop on Bucyrus Road. Police seized the illegal drugs.
