Police investigated a case of alleged robbery that was reported in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue. A parent told police that their son was allegedly robbed. Police took information for a report.

Police responded to a report of a desk that was blocking the roadway in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue. The desk was removed from the roadway.

Police investigated a report of a suspicious person in the vicinity of South Boston Street and Railroad Street. The caller advised that he was driving in that area and the unknown male subject stepped in front of his vehicle.

Police issued a citation for excessive speed to a motorist following a traffic stop in the vicinity of North Market Street and Buckeye Road.

Police investigated a report of a suspicious person in the 600 block of Portland Way South.

Police investigated a case of alleged theft that was reported in the 1100 block of Harding Way East. A male subject told police that an unknown subject stole $5,000 from his bank account. Police took information for a report.

Police investigated a case of multiple vehicle break-ins that were reported by a resident in the 800 block of South Street. Resident told police that unknown subjects broke into their trucks and set off the fire extinguishers. Police took information for a report.

Police investigated a report of an unruly juvenile female in the 1400 block of Baeher Street. Police took information for a report.

Officials at the Crawford County Justice Center requested Galion Police to make contact with the father of an inmate.

Police investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the 200 block of North Union Street. Motorist told police that the axle fell off of his vehicle, causing the crash. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

Police investigated a report of a juvenile accused of stealing bicycles from a property in the 400 block of Grand Street. The property owner provided still photographs and video of the alleged suspect. Police took information for a report.

Police investigated a case of alleged trespassing that was reported in the 800 block of Harding Way East. The property owner advised police that the situation was being handled when officers arrived on the scene.

Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the 400 block of Libby Lane. A male subject and a female subject were involved in a physical altercation. The female accused the male of striking her. Police took information for a report.

Police investigated a domestic dispute that was reported in the 400 block of Libby Lane. Police issued a warning for trespassing to a male subject at that location. The manager of the apartment complex advised the male subject that he was not to return to the property. Police issued a court date for the male subject. Police also took information for a report.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for not having an operating passenger side headlight following a traffic stop in the vicinity of South Street and Poplar Street.

Police investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Eighth Avenue. Caller told dispatch that a semi with no license plates was driving slowly with its hazard lights on. Police made contact with the semi driver who advised officers that he was headed home for the night.

Police investigated a report of lights on in the press box at Unckrich Stadium. Police responded to the scene and determined that the press box was secure.

Police investigated a report of a male subject who allegedly took a vehicle belonging to a female subject from the parking lot at Galion Community Hospital. The female subject informed police that she has a no contact order in effect against the male subject.

Oct. 13

Police investigated a report of suspicious persons in the 200 block of Grant Street. A resident in that area told police that three to four unknown subjects were “prowling around” their house and a neighbor’s house. Police checked the area.

A male subject who was wanted on a felony warrant turned himself in to officers at the police station after agents from the U.S. Marshal’s Office had stopped by his residence earlier in the day. Agents took custody of the male subject at the police station.

Police are investigating an alleged sexual offense that was reported by a resident in the vicinity of North Market Street. Police took information for a report.

Police are investigating a case of alleged assault that occurred at Galion Middle School. Police took information for a report.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for a loud exhaust system and a driver’s side headlight being out following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Harding Way East.

A resident told police that an unknown subject put a bicycle in the back of his pickup truck while the vehicle was parked in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue. Police collected the bicycle from the resident and took information for a report.

Police investigated a report of a fight between two male subjects in the 200 block of South Murray Street. The caller reported that one of the male subjects was standing in the street and the other subject was on a motorcycle. Police took information for a report after arriving on the scene.

Officials with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office requested that Galion Police make contact with a local resident who lives in the 600 block of Harding Way West whose wallet had been turned in to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. Galion Police spoke with a female at the residence who said she would relay the message.

Officials with the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office requested that Galion Police make contact with a female subject who resides in the 200 block of South Pierce Street and ask her to contact Morrow County authorities. Galion Police delivered the message.

Police seized a small amount of marijuana from a motorist following a traffic stop in the vicinity of Harding Way West and Jefferson Street.
