SR-598 construction project meeting Oct. 4

GALION — The City of Galion, in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), has scheduled a public meeting regarding the widening project for State Route 598.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 4 at Grace Point Church, 683 Portland Way North. The meeting will be held in the church’s Christian Life Center.

The stretch of roadway from Carter Drive to to 600 feet north of Brandt Road will be widened. The Ohio Department of Transportation is in charge of the estimated $4.5 million project. The project will include new ditching, storm sewer replacement, water main work, traffic signal modifications, signage, and reconfigured pavement markings.

The purpose is to inform residents and businesses within the project area about construction dates, what to expect during the project, and address any questions or concerns.

The meeting is open to residents, business representatives, media outlets, and interested persons who would like project details. It will also be video recorded for those unable to attend.
