Leland Chapman, son of Dog the Bounty Hunter, will be meeting with fans on Saturday at AA American Bail Bonds.
Three years ago, Ken Reynolds and Gina Powell, owners of the local bail bonds agency, met Leland at a bail bond convention in Cincinnati.
“We met Leland along with his father “Dog” (Duane Chapman) and Dog’s wife Beth,” Powell said.
Leland has appeared on his father’s television show, “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” on the A&E channel as well as, “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt,” on Country Music Television (CMT).
Powell said she ran into Leland again several months ago in Ashland.
“He was in Ashland when he did a ‘meet and greet’ there at Justin Van Stee’s Take Down Tactical store and we took Leland, Justin and his wife to Skyway East for dinner. When I went to Vegas to vote for Beth Chapman for the PBUS President, (Professional Bail Agents of the United States) I ran into Leland there as well. He friended me on Facebook after that. That is when I private messaged him to come to Galion,” Powell said.
Powell said Leland called her to set it up a meet and greet in Galion.
“People have been blowing up my Facebook ever since,” she said.
Powell said Leland travels to different bail bond companies for his meet and greets.
“I think this will be a good thing for Galion and will bring our community together. It’s very rare that a celebrity comes to Galion and with Leland coming here, there are a lot of people excited to meet him,” she said. “There will be people coming from all over Ohio and other states as well. We expect a huge turnout.”
Leland will meet and greet fans from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at AA American Bail Bonds, located at 125 N. Columbus St. There is no cost to meet with Leland. Autographs and photos are $10 each and T-Shirts are $25. Powell said there will be three food trucks available along with live entertainment from local musicians, Tyler Jones and LorrieAnn Brown, for those standing in line waiting to meet Leland.
“We are keeping our fingers crossed that that there will be no rain,” Powell said.
