Galion’s Pickle Festival went so well that organizers were already planning another one next year.

Officials estimate that 5,000 people visited Heise Park and surrounding areas for the twp-day festival.

“Talked to committee members over the weekend,” member Sarah Capretta said. “And we all wanted for it to come back.”

Next year’s event is tentatively planned for July 2-3.

Capretta said she was happy about how the event turned out.

“There really wasn’t anything that went wrong,” she said. “There was no major crisises,:

Galion Rotary Club member Lisa Dye echoed Capretta.

“Everything went great,” Dye said. “For the first year, it was phenomenal, Never seen that many people in the park.”

From 207 participating in the run, which generated 621 cans of food for Community Action, to 86 at the NFL Punt Pass and Kick contest to 114 taking part in the car show sponsored by the Galion Senior Center, there was large numbers all around the event.

Capretta said she wanted to give extra thanks to the high school for hosting the fireworks and the Street and Line Departments for their help.
