Boys basketball: Galion falls, Buckeye Central wins

The Galion boys basketball team lost to Marion Harding 67-60 in the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference Division on Friday night.

The Tigers had a 30-29 lead over the Presidents at halftime.

Galion shot 19 of 40 and made 12 of 15 free throws, while Marion Harding shot 23 of 50, making 9 of 11 free throws.

The Presidents rallied in the third quarter to defeat the Tigers 38-30 in the second half.

Galion had 22 rebounds and 10 turnovers, while Marion Harding had 24 rebounds and four turnovers.

Houston Blair led the Tigers with 27 points, while Colton Moore added 13 points with seven rebounds.

Galion (11-10, 6-8 MOAC) will play undefeated Upper Sandusky on Tuesday.

Buckeye Central Bucks, Wynford Royals

With a 10-point lead in both game halves, the Buckeye Central boys basketball team defeated Wynford 69-49 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

The Bucks 34-24 lead over the Royals at halftime.

Buckeye Central shot 25 of 43, making 19 of 17 free throws, while Wynford shot 17 of 54 and made 12 of 17 free throws.

The Bucks defeated the Royals 35-25 in the second half.

Buckeye Central had 38 rebounds and 12 turnovers, while Wynford had 20 rebounds and seven turnovers.

Alex Crall led the Royals with a game high of 27 points.

Grant Loy led the Bucks with 22 points, while Jacob Shade dropped 19 points on the Royals.

Buckeye Central (14-6, 11-4 N10) will host to play Riverdale on Tuesday, while Wynford (12-8, 9-6 N10) will host to play River Valley the same day.

Crestline Bulldogs

The Crestline boys basketball team lost to Loudonville Redbirds 70-33 in Mid-Buckeye Conference play on Saturday.

The Bulldogs trailed the Redbirds 35-16 at halftime.

Crestline shot 13 of 38 and made 7 of 13 free throws, while Loudonville made 22 of 55 shots and 22 of 28 free throws.

The Redbirds defeated the Bulldogs 35-17 in the second half.

Crestline had 32 rebounds and 25 turnovers, while Loudonville had 35 rebounds and seven turnovers.

Garret Quickle led the Redbirds with a game high of 19 points.

Ty Clark led the Bulldogs with 10 points.

Crestline will play Danville in league play on Tuesday.
