Boys basketball: Galion falls to Ontario

The Galion boys basketball team lost to Ontario 46-44 in non-conference play on Saturday.

The Tigers record is 6-6 in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference and 11-8 overall.

Galion will travel to play River Valley in league play on Tuesday.

Buckeye Central Bucks, Bucyrus Redmen

Buckeye Central defeated Bucyrus 66-47 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

The Bucks had a 34-27 lead over the Redmen at halftime.

Buckeye Central shot 24 of 41 and made 14 of 23 free throws, while Bucyrus shot 17 of 42, making 9 of 12 free throws.

Buckeye Central had 31 rebounds and 10 turnovers, while Bucyrus had 19 rebounds and 12 turnovers.

Jacob Shade led the Bucks with a game high of 24 points with 11 rebounds, while Grant Loy added 14 points.

Harley Robinson led the Redmen with 14 points.

Bucyrus (1-17, 1-12 N10) will travel to play Carey on Friday.

Colonel Crawford Eagles

The Colonel Crawford boys basketball team defeated Plymouth 56-38 in non-conference play on Saturday.

The Eagles had a 19-17 lead over the Big Red at halftime.

Colonel Crawford made 12 of 23 shots and 11 of 16 free throws, while Plymouth shot 8 of 23, making 13 of 21 free throws.

The Eagles defeated the Big Red 37-21 in the second half of the game.

Colonel Crawford had 33 rebounds and seven turnovers, while Plymouth had 13 rebounds and six turnovers.

Hayden But led the Eagles with a game high of 17 points, while Brody Martin added 15 points and Owen Adams tallied 14.

Dodge Collins led the Big Red with seven points.

Colonel Crawford (14-5, 10-3 N10) will travel to play conference rival Buckeye Central (12-6, 9-4 N10) on Friday.

Crestline Bulldogs

The Crestline boys basketball team lost to St. Peter’s 85-37 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs trailed the Spartans 43-17 at halftime.

Crestline shot 13 of 45 and made 10 of 18 free throws, while St. Peter’s made 28 of 58 shots and 24 of 34 free throws.

The Bulldogs lost to the Spartans 42-20 in the second half.

Crestline had 33 rebounds and 24 turnovers, while St. Peter’s had 39 rebounds and 11 turnovers.

Ty Clark led the Bulldogs with eight points.

Mason Campbell led the Spartans with a game high of 16 points.

Crestline will play Loudonville on Saturday.

Wynford Royals

The Wynford boys basketball team defeated Seneca East 58-53 in league play on Saturday.

The Royals trailed the Tigers 24-23 at halftime.

Wynford shot 18 of 47 and made 18 of 26 free throws, while Seneca East shot 20 of 47 and made 11 of 17 free throws.

The Royals defeated the Tigers in the second half 35-29.

Wynford had 33 rebounds and 16 turnovers, while Seneca East had 25 rebounds and 14 turnovers.

Alex Crall led the Royals with a game high of 21 points.

Johnny Diehm led the Tigers with 20 points.

Wynford (12-6, 9-4 N10) will travel to play undefeated Upper Sandusky in league play on Friday.
