Boys basketball: Tigers defeat Panthers

The Galion boys basketball team defeated Fairbanks 51-27 in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference action Tuesday.

The Tigers had a 28-10 lead over the Panthers at halftime.

Galion 20 of 45, making 8 of 10 free throws, while Fairbanks made 10 of 56 shots and 7 of 10 free throws.

The Tigers defeated the Panthers 23-17 in the second half.

Galion had 34 rebounds and 11 turnovers, while Fairbanks had 30 rebounds and 11 turnovers.

Houston Blair led the Tigers with 19 points, while Gavin Ratcliff added 13 points.

Galion (8-8, 3-7 MOAC) will travel to play Plesant on Thursday.

Crestline Bulldogs

The Crestline boys basketball team lost to Central Christian 35-25 Tuesday.

The Bulldogs trailed the Comets 19-11 at halftime.

Crestline shot 11 of 32, making 2 of 11 free throws, while Central Christian made 12 of 34 shots and 10 of 18 free throws.

The Bulldogs lost to Central Christian 16-14.

Crestline had 31 rebounds and 23 turnovers, while Central Christian had 25 rebounds and 17 turnovers.

Davon Triplett led the Bulldogs with eight points, while Ty Clark and Kevin Winkler added four points each.

Garret Miller led the Comets with a game high of 15 points.

Crestline will travel to play Lucas in conference play on Saturday.
