Boys basketball: Bucks triumphant over weekend

The Buckeye Central boys basketball team defeated Mohawk 44-36 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

The Bucks trailed the Warriors 23-17 at halftime.

Buckeye Central made 14 of 33 shots and 15 of 28 free throws, while Mohawk shot 16 of 39 and made 2 of 6 free throws.

The Bucks prevented the Warriors from scoring in the third quarter, winning the second half 27-13.

Both teams had 12 turnvoers. Buckeye Central had 30 rebounds, while the Mohawk had 25 rebounds and 12.

Grant Loy had a solid night leading the Bucks with a game high of 21 points, while Jacob Shade added 11 points.

Buckeye Central (8-4, 6-2 N10) defeated Wynford 52-38 on Friday.

The Bucks will host to play Seneca East on Saturday.

Colonel Crawford Eagles

The Colonel Crawford boys basketball team was defeated by Carey 58-52 on Saturday.

The Eagles trailed the Blue Devils 29-24 in the first half of the game.

Colonel Crawford shot 19 of 53 and made 9 of 10 free throws, while Carey shot 20 of 45, making 10 of 12 charity shots.

The Eagles tied with the Blue Devils with 28 points in the second half.

Colonel Crawford had 28 rebounds and nine turnovers, while Carey had 27 rebounds and 14 turnovers.

Owen Adams led the Eagles with 15 points including two 3-pointers.

Colonel Crawford (9-3, 6-2 N10) lost to Upper Sandusky 60-36 on Friday.

The Eagles will host to play New Riegel in non-league play on Thursday.

Crestline Bulldogs

The Crestline boys basketball team lost to the Loudonville Redbirds 76-32 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs trailed the Flames 36-12 at halftime.

Crestline shot 16 of 57 and made 7 of 14 free throws, while Loudonville made 23 of 55 shots and 14 of 26 free throws.

The Bulldogs defeated the Redbirds 29-27 in the second half.

Crestline had 41 rebounds and 17 turnovers, while the Redbirds had 44 rebounds and 12 turnovers.

Ty Clark led the Bulldogs with 9 points.

Shawn Swindall led the Redbirds with 25 points.

Crestline (0-10, 0-5 Mid-Buckeye Conference) lost to Mohawk 54-31 in non-league play on Friday.

Crestline will host to play conference foe Danville on Tuesday.

Wynford Royals

The Wynford boys basketball team defeated Bucyrus 73-53 on Saturday.

The Royals led the Redmen 42-22 in the first half of the game.

Wynford shot 26 of 52 and made 15 of 21 free throws, while Bucyrus shot 20 of 49, making 9 of 14 charity shots.

The Royals tied with the Redmen at 31 in the second half of the game.

Wynford had 29 rebounds and seven turnovers, while Bucyrus had 29 rebounds and 16 turnovers.

Braxton Tea led the Royals with 26 points, while Alex Crall added nine.

For the Redmen, Clinton Carr led the team with 24 points.

Wynford (6-6, 4-4 N10) will host to play Ridgedale in league play on Saturday, while Bucyrus (0-8, 0-11) will play Galion on Tuesday.
