Girls basketball: Tigers fall to Knights

Northmor defeated the Galion girls basketball team 61-53 in a non-conference game on Wednesday.

The Lady Knights made 16 shots and 26 of 34 free throws, while the Lady Tigers mad 16 shots and 18 of 30 free throws.

Lydia Farley led the Knights with a game high of 23 points, while Madison Swihart added 14 and Karlee Carroll tallied 12.

Taylor Valentine led the Tigers with 15 points including three 3-pointers. Gracie Groves and Robin Barnes scored 11 points each.

On Jan. 5, Galion (3-8, 0-6 MOAC Red) will host to play Pleasant (9-1, 5-1 MOAC) in league play, while Northmor (6-5, 4-3 MOAC Blue) will host to play conference foe Centerburg (5-5, 4-2 MOAC).

Buckeye Central, Wynford Royals

The Buckeye Central girls basketball team defeated conference and cross-county rival Wynford 57-52 on Tuesday.

Jade Stuckman led all scorers with 24 points including six 3-pointers for the Lady Royals, while Sarah Ogden added 14 and Gretchen Harris tallied 10.

Isabelle Biglin led the Buckettes with 16 points. Haley Green had 14 and Jenna Karl tallied 10.

The Buckettes’ record improves 5-2 in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference, and 5-3 overall. The Lady Royals’ record drops 3-4 in the league, and 4-6 overall.

Buckeye Central will play Mohawk in league play on Jan. 5. Wynford will host to play conference foe Bucyrus on Jan. 5.

Bucyrus Redmen

The Bucyrus girls basketball team defeated Ridgedale 84-21 in league play on Tuesday.

The Lady Redmen’s record improves 3-4 in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference, and 3-6 overall.

Bucyrus will travel to play Wynford in league play on Jan. 5.

Colonel Crawford Eagles

The Colonel Crawford girls basketball team lost to Upper Sandusky 52-38 in league play on Tuesday.

Ashley Gwirtz led the Eagles with 16 points.

The Lady Eagles’ record drops 2-5 in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference, and 5-7 overall.

Colonel Crawford will travel to play conference foe Carey (9-0, 7-0 N10) on Jan. 5.

Crestline Bulldogs

The Crestline girls basketball team lost to Loudonville 67-13 in Mid-Buckeye Conference action on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed the Lady Redbirds 37-9 at halftime.

Crestline made 6 shots, while Loudonville made 26 shots and 15 free throws.

Ellen Dailey led the Bulldogs with six points.

Emily Weber led Loudonville (5-6, 2-3 MBC) with 14 points and five steals. Nikki Weber added 12 points for the Redbirds, along with seven assists and 10 steals, while Morgan Graham had 10.

Crestline (0-10, 0-7 MBC) will travel to play Bucyrus in a non-conference game on Dec. 9.
