Buckeye Central edges Cardington girls; Pleasant tops Northmor

Cardington fell to Buckeye Central in a nail-biter on Thursday, dropping a 48-47 decision in a game that was close throughout.

The Bucks jumped out to a 12-9 lead after eight minutes of play, but Cardington got within an 18-17 margin by halftime. Buckeye Central added one point to their lead in the third quarter, going in front 34-32. In the fourth, the Pirates took a 15-14 advantage, but could not get past their hosts.

Sage Brannon led the Pirates with 13 points, while both Mikayla Conrad and Kyndall Spires had nine and Kynlee Edwards scored eight.

Northmor Knights

Pleasant jumped out to a sizable lead against Northmor on Thursday and claimed a 58-35 win on Thursday.

The Spartans took a 16-8 lead after the opening period of play and increased it to a 42-18 margin by the half. Their lead would be 52-22 after three periods before Northmor took the fourth 13-8.

Madison Swihart paced Northmor with 11 points in the game. She hit three three-pointers.
