Highland placed seventh on Saturday when the Scots hosted the Jeremy Ammons Kilted Klassic invitational.
In the 16-team meet, Marysville took first place with 385 points, while Westerville North was second with 341. Highland tallied 164 points, but was able to boast an individual champion in 220-pounder Zach Baker.
In the round-robin portion of the meet, Baker picked up two pins and a decision win. Then, he topped state qualifier Cody Howard of Bloom-Carroll 5-4 in the semifinals before edging two-time state placer Cameron Conaway of South Central by a 5-3 margin in overtime to take first place.
Six more Scots competed in the tournament with four finishing in the top four. At 132 pounds, Sean Dudgeon went 4-1 to place third; as did Kaden Bunting at 152 and Gavin Kafka at 160. Dakota Bunting placed fourth at 145. Also, Alex Presley was ninth at 170 and Andrew Davis placed the same at 182.
Northmor took first place in the nine-team Big Walnut Invitational on Saturday. The Knights finished with 244.5 points to edge second-place Sheridan by 1.5 points.
Northmor was led by five individual champions in the meet. Jake Neer won at 106 pounds with two pins, two major decisions and one technical fall. At 120 pounds, Griffin Jenkins claimed three pins to take first. Conan Becker pinned all five of his opponents at 132 pounds, while Matthew Ross had three pins in five matches at 138. Jake Farley also went 5-0, with four pins and one major decision at 145 pounds.
Wyatt Collier took second place at 113 pounds, as did Ben Singer at 170. Both D.J. Christo (195) and Nathan Price (220) finished third. Also, Kyle Price was sixth at 126 and Brad Baker took seventh at 152.
