Area football players voted All-Ohio

COLUMBUS — Galion High School seniors Dominic Pittman and Brayden Eckels were among a group of 13 Mid Ohio Athletic Conference players named to the 2020 Division IV All-Ohio football teams.

Pittman, the Tigers placekicker, was a first-team All-Ohio selection on offense. Eckels was a first-team selection on defense at linebacker.

Pittman connected on 5-of-9 field goal attempts and 23-of-28 point after attempts in 2020, according to the Galion DigitalScout statistics page.

Eckels was the second-leading tackler in the MOAC with 90.

Shelby running back Owen Fisher, offensive lineman Camden Walter, and punter Marshall Shepherd were first-team selctions.

Clear Fork offensive lineman Bruce Swihart and Shelby defensive back Andre Hill were voted to the second team.

Honorable mention selections from the MOAC included Ontario quarterback Ethan Snyder and defensive lineman Jonathan Nagel; Shelby wide receiver Blaine Bowman, defensive lineman Nathan Zehner, and linebacker Carson Ingram; and Clear Fork defensive back Brady Tedrow.

Eagles, Knights rewarded

Five players from Colonel Crawford’s regional semifinalist squad were selected to the Division VI All-Ohio teams.

Running back Tristan Cross, offensive lineman Konnor Moore, and defensive lineman Chase Walker were first-team selections. Junior defensive back Carter Valentine was voted second-team All-Ohio. Junior linebacker Carson Feichtner received honorable mention.

Cross led the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with 1,419 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns. He tallied a league-best 134 points.

Walker finished the season with 22 tackles for loss, second in the N10, and six sacks, tied for third best in the conference.

Valentine recorded a conference-high seven interceptions. Feichtner led the Eagles with 83 total tackles, which was fifth best in the Northern 10.

Northmor defensive lineman Gavin Whited and linebacker Garrett Corwin were voted honorable mention All-Ohio in Division VI.

Royals, Bulldogs honored

Four Wynford players and one from Crestline were voted to the Division V and Division VII All-Ohio teams, respectively.

Royals quarterback Dustin Brady and wide receiver Lucas Hackworth were first-team selections in Division V. Linebacker Cody Taylor was voted to the second team. Offensive lineman Bailey Skidmore was a third-team choice.

In the Division VII voting, Crestline defensive lineman Ethan Clark was voted second-team All-Ohio.
