Cross country: Northmor’s Kristin Duryea wins Crestline Invitational

Northmor’s Kristen Duryea captured the individual championship at the Crestline Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday at Amann Reservoir Park.

Duryea posted a time of 19 minutes, 57.04 seconds to win the race. She is the sixth consecutive Northmor runner to win the individual title at the Crestline Invitational.

Dani Blum won the event for four straight years from 2009 to 2012. Isabelle Ditullio won the last two individual championships in 2013 and 2014.

In fact, Northmor dominated the 2014 race with Ditullio, Brooke Bennett and Duryea finishing 1-2-3 to pace the Knights to the team championship.

The Knights placed second in the 2015 team results with 49 points. Fredericktown edged Northmor to take home the team trophy with 46 points. Colonel Crawford came in third with 84 points and Bucyrus placed fourth with 103 points.

In addition to Duryea’s championship run, Bennett and Samantha Peters also finished in the top 10. Bennett placed ninth with a time of 21:05.55. Peters came in 10th, posting a time of 21:10.38. Ditullio came in 12th this season, recording a time of 21:14.57. Rounding out the top five runners for the Knights was Reanne McDonald, who placed 18th with a time of 21:39.06.

Loudonville’s Emma Hinkle came in second place with a time of 20:23.42. The Redbirds finished sixth in the team results.

Fredericktown also had three runners finish in the top 10. Rachel Tumbleson placed third with a time of 20:30.65. Nichole Groseclose finished in fourth place with a time of 20:39.66. Rachel Caputo took sixth place with a time of 20:42.68. Lauren Davis finished in 13th place, recording a time of 21:22.8. Ashlyn Shrimplin placed 21st with a time of 21:58.83.

Anna Reffey, Emily Kemper and Courtney Britt each turned in a top 15 finish for Colonel Crawford. Reffey and Kemper placed seventh and eighth, respectively, and Britt finished 15th. Reffey’s time was 20:45.39. Kemper crossed the finish line in 20:51.89. Britt recorded a time of 21:33.98.

Shaylee Campbell, Julia VanVoorhis and Mirium Everett were the top performers for Bucyrus. Campbell finished in fifth place with a time of 20:40.43. VanVoorhis placed 16th with a time of 21:35.59. Everett came in 19th place with a time of 21:50.54. Jessica Campbell finished 28th with a time of 22:36.01. Brandi Butler took 46th place with a time of 23:38.62.

Galion’s Sari Conner continued her breakout freshman campaign by finishing in 14th place at the Crestline Invitational. Her time was 21:25.68. The Tigers came in eighth in the team results. Following are the rest of the results for Galion’s top five runners: Ashlie Sallee (35th, 23:06.6), Kelsey Hoffman (78th, 25:57.83), Lexi Hadamuscin (86th, 26:56.63), Cheyenne Blair (87th, 26:59.48).

Caitlyn Harley was Crestline’s top runner. She finished in 22nd place with a time of 22:11.43. Summer Mowry finished in 99th place with a time of 28:32.48.

Sage Brannon led Cardington-Lincoln to a seventh-place finish in the team results. Brannon came in 31st place with a time of 22:45.12. Following are the results for the rest of the Pirates’ top five: Alicia McElwee (44th, 23:30.5), Jessica Shook (56th, 24:33.99), Abbey Lorimer (58th, 24:37.44), Bailey Shafer (63rd, 24:53.78).

Runners from Buckeye Central posted the following results: Kendra Stahl (42nd, 23:24.72), Tamara Metzger (45th, 23:36.16), Zoe Rutledge (65th, 25:03.74), Haley Kalb (74th, 25:39.98), Jordyn Kaple (85th, 26:49.26).

Wynford athletes recorded the following results: Morgan Beaschler (43rd, 23:28.64), Katherine Hall (60th, 24:43.95), Annie Fienning (75th, 25:44.14), Hannah Weithman (76th, 25:44.39), Aryn Copeland (103rd, 29:16.14).

Gilead Christian’s Lindsay Millinger came in 55th place with a time of 24:31.53.
