Vikings stop Colts 20-14

CALEDONIA — Clear Fork lost to River Valley here 20-14 Friday night in the Vikings homecoming game.

The Colts took a 7-0 lead at 9:23 of the first quarter when Brennan South hit Tacoma Orr with a 16-yard touchdown pass. Gabe Blauser’s kick put the visitors ahead, but they wouldn’t score again until late in the third quarter when South ran 17 yards for the TD.

Jake Green had a 6-yard run for RV and Cooper Graham a 50-yard run with 3:28 left in the first half that put River Valley ahead 14-7. Luke Rogers scampered 36 yards for another Viking score and a 20-7 lead.

The loss was the first for Clear Fork in MOAC play.

River Valley rushed for 214 yards.

South had 60 yards rushing and Collin Crider 30 on 8 carries. South was 16-of-22 passing for 108 yards.

Ashton Lyon, Lucas Kern and Orr each had 4 catches.

Brady Au had 14 tackles and Lyon 13 to lead the Colts defense.

Clear Fork, now 3-2, visits Galion Friday night. The Tigers are unbeaten at 5-0 and 2-0 in the MOAC after dispatching Marion Harding 42-19.
