MG clinches share of league golf title with wins over Cardington and Northmor

Mount Gilead earned two more wins on Thursday, topping Cardington and Northmor in a triangular match.

The Indians finished with 171 shots, while Cardington went 1-1 on the day with a team total of 183. Northmor tallied 203 strokes.

Zack Hosack led the Indians with a round of 37. Cameron Brown shot 43 and Grant Hack had a total of 44. Mitchell Bell scored 47, Gavin Mills had a round of 51 and Jason Bolha shot 53 to round out the Indian effort.

Austin Yake of Cardington was match medalist with a score of 36. Nadia Kerman shot 44 and Austin Wilson scored 51. Sage Brannon shot 52 and both Logan Doubikin and Jacob Spires had 57 strokes.

For Northmor, Hayes Bentley shot 45 and Nathan Bird tallied 49 strokes. Andrew Yarnell shot 50, while Kamryn Ingles scored 59, Issabelle Szulewski tallied 63 strokes and Levi Ebert shot 71.

With the two wins, Mount Gilead has wrapped up at least a share of the Blue Division title in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference with a 9-0 record in league matches.
