Prep volleyball: Centerburg knocks off Northmor in MOAC play

Centerburg ended Northmor’s five-match winning streak on Tuesday, handing the Knights a loss in three sets, 26-24, 25-21, 25-21, in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball action.

Hannah Ervin led the Trojans with 11 kills. Alaina Wright and Emily Garber had nine kills apiece. Renee Lemke had 39 assists and 14 digs. Wright added 12 digs for Centerburg (5-2, 3-0 MOAC).

Anna Donner led Northmor with 10 kills. Karlee Carroll added five kills and Hope Miracle finished with three kills. Mikayla Briggs had three blocks and Rayanna Loyer edded two.

Lindsey Wiseman led the Knights with 19 digs and Carroll added 13. Donner had eight digs. Jordyn Zoll had 14 assists and Erica McElvain added seven assists.

Northmor (6-3, 2-1 MOAC) began the season 1-2, but rebounded to win five consecutive matches heading into Tuesday’s match.

In junior varsity action, Northmor defeated Centerburg, 25-21, 26-24.

The Knights travel to Elgin on Thursday. The Comets (3-1, 2-1 MOAC) swept Cardington-Lincoln on Tuesday.

Centerburg plays host to East Knox on Thursday. The Bulldogs (1-3, 1-2 MOAC) picked up their first win of the season on Tuesday, defeating Mount Gilead in four sets.
