Wynford took care of its business early and cruised to a 50-0 road win over Ridgedale in the opening game of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference campaign n Friday.
The Royals (1-1, 1-0 N10) scored all of their points in an explosive first half. Quarterback Zach Hoffman passed for 164 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Tony Watson caught a touchdown pass, ran for a score and also had an interception. Nick Looker scored on a 50-yard run and Robbie Miller had a 31-yard run for a score. Braxton Tea caught a 33-yard touchdown pass.
On defense, Seth Hoffman recorded four sacks for the Royals.
Wynford meets undefeated Colonel Crawford in a key, early-season showdown next Friday. It will be the Royals’ first home game of 2015. The Eagles (2-0, 1-0 N10) knocked off Mohawk 27-6 in Week 2.
Ridgedale (0-2, 0-1 N10) travels to Upper Sandusky next Friday. The Rams (1-1, 1-0, N10) picked up their first win of the season on Friday, defeating Carey, 20-6.
