Mason Light finished at 41. He also birdied the fourth hole and made par on three other holes.

Dakota Picou shot 48 and Braxton Spears finished at 57 for the Redmen.

Galion 175, Marion Harding 202

Jack McElligott and Sam Rigdon each set a personal record while leading Galion to victory over Marion Harding in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference boys golf action on Wednesday at the Galion Country Club.

McElligott, a freshman, won the match medal with a score of 41, the lowest round of his rookie season on the varsity squad. He made par on four of the nine holes.

Rigdon, a sophomore, carded 42 to record his best round of varsity golf. He played half of the 2014 season at the varsity level. He also shot par on four holes Wednesday.

Nick Kruger shot 45 and Mitchell Dyer ended his round at 47 to give the Tigers four players with scores in the 40s. Brevin Owens and Colten Skaggs each shot 50.

“It was a good night,” Galion head coach Bryce Lehman said. “We had kids shooting lower scores. Jack and Sam shot their best rounds. Nick was steady with his 45. It was good to see Mitchell get back down in the mid 40s, because in the last three matches he’s been in the low to mid 50s, and that’s just not him.”

Ryan Adams led the Presidents with a score of 45. Damian Whiteamire shot 49. Evan Peters and Alec Soule each finished at 54. Dylan Childers shot 62.

Fairbanks 169, Galion 197

Fairbanks’ Todd Crowe shot 39 to win the match medal and lead the Panthers to a Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Galion on Tuesday at Darby Creek Golf Course in Marysville.

Nick Kruger led the Tigers, shooting 46. Jack McElligott finished the afternoon at 48. Brevin Owens shot 50 and Mitchell Dyer carded 53. Colten Skaggs ended his round at 55 and Sam Rigdon shot 59.
