Girls soccer: Lady Colts blank Norwayne, 5-0

Jordyne Helinski recorded a hat trick to lead Clear Fork to a 5-0 whitewash of Norwayne in girls soccer action last Saturday.

Helinski opened the scoring for the Lady Colts (1-0-0) in the first half and added two more goals in the second half. Clear Fork led 1-0 at the break and tallied four goals in the second half.

MacKenzie Thorne and Kaylin Helinski also scored for the Lady Colts. MacKenzie Klenk, Taylor Cook, Meshia Curry and Aly Wend each had an assist.

Clear Fork finished with 16 shots on goal while holding Norwayne to just four shots. Lady Colts goalkeeper Kaylee Krausman recorded two saves. Norwayne netminder Andrea Chapman was forced to make 11 saves.

Clear Fork also won the junior varsity match, 3-0.

The Lady Colts play host to Ashland on Aug. 27 at 6:45 p.m., then entertain Archbishop Hoban on Aug. 29 at 4:45 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Colt Corral.
