Northmor spikers back to winning ways

FREDERICKTOWN —After suffering their first loss of the year on Tuesday, the Northmor Lady Golden Knights took to the road on Thursday to meet up with Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference foes, the Fredericktown Lady Freddies.

Northmor was able to get back on the winning track but it would take all five sets; 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 15-25 and 19-17. The Lady Knights improve to 13-1 on the season and now sit at 7-1 within the KMAC.

The usual names were busy yet again for head coach Kara Wright.

Anna Donner led the way for the Northmor offense on Thursday evening. Donner was 46/52 on the attack en route to recording 19 kills. On defense, Donner posted 15 digs and three blocks at the net. Leslie Brubaker was another key contributor on both sides of the net, going 28/30 with 14 kills and racking up five blocks on defense. Hope Miracle joined the block party with two blocks as well.

Jordyn Zoll finished the night with an impressive stat line as well. On offense, Zoll gave the Knights a 17/17 service performance while earning an ace. Zoll finished with 19 assists and six kills to go along with 12 digs.

Hannah Bentley and Kelsie Fike also had big nights from the service stripe. Bentley was a perfect 23/23 serving with two aces and Fike went 15/15. Fike also chimed in on the offensive side with four kills.

Other statistics for Northmor were: Caitlin Thebeault- 24 assists, 7 kills and 2 aces; Cristianna Boggs- 24 digs and Aly Blunk- 9 digs.

Northmor will play a pair of KMAC games at home next week.

On Tuesday, the Lady Knights will host the Danville Lady Blue Devils and then turn around and host the Lady Pirates from Cardington on Thursday.
