Tigers tennis corrals Colts

GALION — Galion’s tennis squad continues to roll after hosting and defeating the Clear Fork Lady Colts on Tuesday at Heise Park; 4-1. With the win, the Lady Tigers are now 13-0 overall in 2017 and bump up their Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference record to a perfect 9-0.

The trio of singles players for Galion; Kayley Gimbel, Katherine Talbott and Jalyn Oswald all cruised to 6-0, 6-0 victories over their opposition for the day. At second doubles, the duo of Elli Chandler and Katie Baughn pushed through their match-up and earned the Tigers’ fourth point; 7-6 (tiebreak, 7-4), 6-4.

Kiersten Gifford and Danielle Schneider fell at first doubles; 4-6, 4-6.

A non-league meeting with the St. Peter’s Lady Spartans awaits Galion on Thursday, September 21.
