Bulldogs earn road win against Bucks

NEW WASHINGTON — The Crestline Bulldogs football team improved to .500 on the season (2-2) after a road win against the Buckeye Central Bucks on Friday; 33-18. Woes continue for the Bucks as they remain winless in 2017.

Ty Clark finished the contest with 211 passing yards, completing 12/20 passes en route to throwing two touchdowns and one interception. Davon Triplett was again Clark’s primary receiver. Triplett grabbed five passes for 145 yards and both of the Clark touchdown throws. Clark also picked up seven yards rushing and Triplett ran the ball once for 16 yards.

Other receiving stats for Crestline Friday were: Caleb Moore- 4 catches, 33 yards; Bailey Woolard- 1 catch, 18 yards; Jaden Stewart- 1 catch, 18 yards and Dakota Wireman- 1 catch, 3 yards.

As a team, the Bulldogs amassed 139 total rushing yards against the Bucks’ defense.

Leading the ground attack for the visitors was Moore, picking up 58 yards on 11 carries and scampering for two scores. Wireman also picked up 58 yards while carrying the ball 17 times. Moore also earned a touchdown via special teams play on Friday night, returning a Buckeye Central kickoff 75 yards for the score. Also notching points for the special teams unit was Dillon Foltz, going 3/3 on PAT attempts.

The Crestline Bulldogs defense sacked the Bucks’ quarterback four times on the night as well to thwart the home team’s offensive agenda.

The ‘Dogs will once again be on the road next Friday when they head to Morral to face Ridgedale for the first of their two meetings this season.
