Lady Knights sweep Mount Gilead

MOUNT GILEAD — The wins just keep on coming for the Northmor Lady Golden Knights volleyball team.

On Tuesday evening, the Knights hit the road to Mount Gilead to meet up with the Lady Indians in Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference play and would head home after a three-set victory; 25-13, 25-7 and 25-8. Northmor improves to 10-0 overall and are now 5-0 within their conference.

The attack trio of Anna Donner, Leslie Brubaker and Hope Miracle put together a solid performance against the hosting Indians on Tuesday. Donner finished the game at 18/18 hitting and nine kills. Brubaker was a perfect 8/8 at the net with six kills and Miracle went 7/7 and added six kills.

Other stats for Donner, Brubaker and Miracle were: Donner- 3 blocks, 5 digs; Brubaker- 8 blocks and Miracle- 5 digs.

Caitlin Thebeault was the assist leader for the Lady Knights against Mount Gilead. Thebeault was 31/34 setting en route to 11 assists. Jordyn Zoll also chimed in with 10 assists on a flawless, 32/32 setting performance. Zoll also went 20/20 serving with six aces and finished the contest with five digs on defense.

Hanna Bentley and Cristianna Boggs also faired well at the service line on Tuesday. Bentley finished 9/9 on the serve and recorded two aces in the win. Boggs was 9/10 with two aces for the visiting Northmor squad. Kelsie Fike also posted an ace on the evening. On defense, Boggs finished with nine digs to thwart the Gilead attack.

Another KMAC foe awaits the Lady Knights on Thursday, September 14. The Centerburg Lady Trojans will head to Northmor’s home floor with hopes of ending the 10-game winning streak that the Knights are on.
