Lady Tigers sweep Lady ‘Dogs


CRESTLINE — The Galion Lady Tigers tennis team was on the road on Monday afternoon to meet up with the Crestline Lady Bulldogs in a non-league match.

Galion remains undefeated on the season after completing a clean sweep of Crestline; 5-0. The Tigers move to 9-0 overall on the season and currently sit with a 6-0 mark in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference.

The Lady Tigers had no trouble in singles play on Monday. Kayley Gimbel cruised to the win at first singles; 6-0, 6-0. At second singles, Katherine Talbott remains unbeaten after winning her match-up; 6-2, 6-0. Jalyn Oswald is also still undefeated after a straight-set victory; 6-0, 6-0.

On Monday, the Galion squad switched up their first doubles team and it paid off. Orchid Parsons and Marissa Breinich won their contest; 6-0, 6-4. Second doubles regulars, Elli Chandler and Katie Baughn snagged a 6-0, 6-0 victory over their Lady Bulldogs opponents as well.

Galion will hit the road again on Tuesday afternoon and head to Caledonia to meet the River Valley Lady Vikings for conference play. On Thursday, the Tigers will host the Harding Prexies for one final tune-up before the MOAC tournament on Saturday morning.
