ONTARIO — Even with the weather beginning to cool down, the Galion Lady Tigers tennis team remained hot as they traveled to Ontario on Thursday afternoon to meet up with Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference foe, the Ontario Lady Warriors.

Galion moves to 7-0 on the season and 5-0 in the MOAC after defeating the hosting Lady Warriors squad; 5-0.

The trio of singles players for the Lady Tigers lost just three total games out of the 39 they played in on Thursday.

Katherine Talbott breezed to her victory in second singles without dropping a game; 6-0, 6-0. At third singles, Jalyn Oswald remained unbeaten in 2017 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Kayley Gimbel also won her contest at first singles for the visiting Lady Tigers; 6-1, 6-1.

Danielle Schneider and Kiersten Gifford continued their winning ways at first doubles with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Katie Baughn and Elli Chandler played their way to a win at second doubles to the same score; 6-2, 6-2 to secure the 5-0 sweep of the hosting Ontario squad.

A busy week awaits the Lady Tigers next week. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Galion will play host to Buckeye Valley, Upper Sandusky and Pleasant, respectively. After the two MOAC matches separated by a trip from the Lady Rams, the Tigers will head to Bucyrus on Saturday for the Bucyrus Invitational.
