Northmor volleyball remains undefeated in ‘17

MANSFIELD —The Northmor Lady Golden Knights volleyball team continued their hot streak to start the fall 2017 season on Saturday.

Northmor traveled to Mansfield Senior to clash with the Lady Tygers in non-conference action and walked away with a three-set victory. Scores for the sets were: 25-6, 25-12 and 25-9. The Knights are now 4-0 overall and remain 1-0 in the newly formed Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference. Northmor’s junior varsity squad was also victorious in straight sets; 25-14 and 25-12.

Jordyn Zoll continued her dominance so far this season, both at the service line and as the primary set-up player. Zoll finished 17/19 serving with five aces while going 44/46 setting and recording 28 assists. Anna Donner (2), Hanna Bentley (3) and Kelsie Fike (1) provided aces as well for the visitors.

Caitlin Theabeault also contributed 21/23 setting and 13 assists for the Knights squad. Not only was Theabeault setting up the attack, she also went a perfect 10/10 hitting en route to eight kills. Donner and Fike were also busy at the net for Northmor. Donner finished at 21/22 hitting with 15 kills and Fike was 9/12 with nine kills on the day. Hope Miracle, Leslie Brubaker and Bentley also threw down three kills apiece in the victory.

Defensively, four Lady Knights played key roles in thwarting the Lady Tygers attack. Aly Blunk, Donner and Theabeault all recorded seven digs apiece while Brubaker and Donner notched a block apiece to aide in the win.

Northmor will travel to Danville on Thursday, August 31 to meet up with the Lady Blue Devils in KMAC action.
