GALION — On Monday night, the Northmor Golden Knights baseball team hosted the Utica Redskins in Division III sectional action.

Unfortunately, as quickly as the postseason began, Northmor’s run was cut short when they fell to Utica, 13-1. The Knights are 9-13.

Utica held Northmor to two hits while committing no errors in the field of play. Nate Hall recorded a double and scored the only run, while Jordan Wiseman delivered a single. Conor Becker was awarded the RBI for plating Hall. The Knights’ pitchers combined to allow 11 hits on the day.

Kyle Kegley took the loss for Northmor, throwing 3.1 innings while allowing seven hits, seven runs (six earned), walking seven and striking out four. Sam Eichorn pitched one inning of relief work, giving up three hits, five runs (four earned) and walked one. Hayes Bentley tossed the final 0.2 innings, gave up a hit, an earned run and a walk.

The Golden Knights still have one game remaining for the 2017 season. A makeup game at Highland is scheduled for Friday, May 12. Northmor is 4-9 in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division.
