Galion tennis team wins on the road vs. Madison

MADISON TOWNSHIP — After dropping a league match to River Valley on Tuesday, the Galion Tigers tennis team responded with a 3-2 non-conference win over Madison on Wednesday to improve to 9-4 on the season.

The Tigers earned their three points thanks to the doubles squads and Tyler Harris at third singles.

Nic Oehler and Matt Sparks won in first singles in straight sets; 6-0, 6-0. Max Papenhausen and Bryce Barnhart achieved a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second doubles as well. Harris defeated his Madison opponent; 3-6, 6-4, 6-0.

At first singles, Lucas Conner was defeated; 2-6, 2-6 and Landon Rose fell at second doubles; 1-6, 3-6.

Galion will be on the road again on Thursday when they travel to Delaware for a Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference match against the Buckeye Valley Barons. On Saturday, the Tigers will be in action for the MOAC tournament at River Valley High School and Grant Middle School in Marion.
