Temple Christian holds on vs. Crestline

CRESTLINE — It has been a long, rough season for Crestline’s girls basketball team. On Monday, the Lady Bulldogs lost 37-30 to Temple Christian to fall to 1-19.

Neither team provided much offense throughout the game, but even more so in the first half. Crestline managed just four points in the first and five points in the second quarter. Temple Christian had just six points in the opening period and four points in the second to take a 10-9 lead into the locker room for halftime. The scoring picked up a bit in the second half as the Lady Crusaders came out in the third to score a dozen while Crestline managed just six points. Down 22-15 entering the final quarter, the Lady ‘Dogs put a 15 spot on the board but couldn’t slow down the Temple Christian offense as they went on to earn the “W”.

Sarah Toy scored nine points to lead Crestline. Lauryn Tadda chipped in eight points to go with six rebounds. Lydia Tadda and Brianna Briggs both contributed five points in the ‘Dogs’ efforts. Alandra Tesso finished up the Crestline scoring with three points. As a team, the Lady Bulldogs grabbed just 22 rebounds and turned the ball over 13 times on offense.

Jenna Wolford led Temple Christian with16 points and Carmen Giess added 10.

Crestline will play itsfinal regular season game on the road Feb. 11 at Mansfield Christian. The Lady Bulldogs’ only win of the season came at home against Mansfield Christian.
