FREDERICKTOWN — The Northmor Golden Knights were on the road on Saturday to meet up with conference foe, the Fredericktown Freddies. Northmor, riding a hot streak, took care of the Freddies by a final score of 63-53.

The Knights are now an impressive 9-2 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division action. Fredericktown drops to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the MOAC Blue Division.

Fredericktown was not going to go down easily to the Golden Knights. In fact, at the end of the first quarter, the scored was knotted up at 14 points apiece. The second quarter actually saw the Freddies outscore Northmor 12-10 to take a slim two-point lead into the locker room. Both teams came out ready to battle in the third quarter and the Freddies would actually extend their lead to 42-38 headed into the fourth and final quarter. That’s when Northmor picked things up and would outscore Fredericktown 25-11 en route to the 10-point victory.

The Freddies would best the Golden Knights in most of the categories that usually are the deciding factor in a contest. Northmor scored zero points off of the Freddies’ turnovers while Fredericktown converted turnovers into 10 points. Northmor, lead by Brock Pletcher’s 11/14 from the line, shot 17/27 from the charity stripe. Fredericktown was just 2/3 from the line.

Leading the scoring attack for the Golden Knights was Meechie Johnson. Meechie finished the game with 18 points to go along with four assists and a rebound.
