GALION — There were more fall sports awards handed out this week to Galion High School’s student athletes.

The first, and very deserved award was Connor Moreton being named to the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Red Division first team all-conference offensive team. Moreton lead the Tigers with 50 total points scored in the 2016 football season. He was 17/20 on extra point attempts this season and 11/14 on his field goal attempts. It was well documented when Moreton broke the Tigers’ school field goal distance mark with a 47-yarder and then broke his own record in week 10 with a 52-yard boot. Congratulations Connor Moreton!

Other awards that were given out in the last week were the Spreng Capital and WQEL All-County All-Stars awards. These awards were distributed to student athletes and coaches across all of the fall sports.

Winning the awards were as follows: Shae Ness from the girls golf team, Brevin Owens, Jack McElligott, Mitch Dyer and head coach Bryce Lehman from the boys golf squad, Sari Conner from the Galion girls cross country team, Marisa Gwinner from the volleyball squad, Harrison Ivy from the Tigers football team and the tennis teams Kayley Gimbel, Jalyn Oswald, Katherine Talbott and coach Terry Gribble. Congratulations to all that wear the orange and blue on their recognition from Spreng Capital and WQEL.
