Galion girls tennis team gets best of Marion Pleasant

MARION — The Galion Tigers girls tennis team picked up another Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Red Division victory, 5-0 against the Marion Pleasant Spartans to improve to 7-3 in the league and 11-4 overall.

Kayley Gimbel moved to 15-2 on the year with her 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles. At second doubles, Katherine Talbott won 6-0, 6-0 to improve to 14-4 this season. Jalyn Oswald won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles to improves her record to 17-3

The first doubles team of Kiersten Gifford and Katie Baugh won 7-5, 7-5 and Danielle Schneider and Elli Chandler were also victorious at second doubles, 6-4, 6-3.

Galion will be back at home against Crestline on Monday September 26. This begins a stretch of four matches at home for the Tigers to wrap up the regular season.
