BELLVILLE — Both the Galion Tigers boys varsity and junior varsity golfers were on the course at Deer Ridge Golf Club on Wednesday to take on the Clear Fork Colts in a non-league dual. The varsity was upended by the Colts 175-187. Galion’s jayvee team had a similar outcome, falling to Clear Fork 231-236.
Jack McElligott shot well on the day, finishing with a nine hole score of 39 for coach Bryce Lehman’s Tigers. Mitch Dyer contributed a 44 and Matt Kingseed recorded a 50. Finishing up the scoring for Galion were Kaleb Harsh and Colten Skaggs, both shooting a 54 for their round and Brevin Owens tallying a 57.
The junior varsity team saw Sam Rigdon as the medalist on the match, shooting a 50. Alec Dicus shot a 58, Aaron Barnhart and Gage Lackey both marked down a 64 on their scorecards. Jacob Lear finished up the scoring for the squad with a 66.
The Tigers will be in action again this evening, traveling to Delaware to meet up with Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference foe Buckeye Valley.
