MOUNT GILEAD — The season is well underway for members of Galion’s boys golf team. In fact, the Tigers are already competing for conference honors.

Coach Bryce Lehman on Friday, as he waited with the team for a ride to Mount Gilead, said that by the time classes begin, his squad will already have played eight matches.

In Mount Gilead the Tigers were taking part in the two-day Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Invitational at Pine Lakes Golf Course.

The tournament finished up Friday afternoon after the Inquirer went to press.

Look for details from that match in the future, as well as a preview on the boys team, and the girls golf team at Galion, coached by Mark Barrier.

On Wednesday, the Tigers will host their annual invitational at Sycamore Creek Golf Course, previously Galion Country Club.

Teams expected to participate are Galion, Bucyrus, Crestline, Mansfield Senior, Madison, Clear Fork and Fostoria.

Action starts at 9 a.m.
