The Galion Graders are still searching for the pieces to put a complete game together after the Lima Locos won 11-2.

“This is now three straight games that we have had complete games thrown against us,” said Graders Head Coach Taylore Baker.

The Lima Locos pitcher Connor Curlis pitched a complete game, giving up only two runs with neither earned. Curlis struck out seven batters while walking only two batters.

Graders starting pitcher Jonathon Murphy was the losing pitcher. Murphy gave up six runs with five being earned, struck out two batters and walked four batters.

Early in the game it looked like the Graders had everything going for them as they jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second with Evan Lee scoring on an error.

The Locos did not waste any time in tying the game up in their next at bat.

“We had a one run lead and a chance to add to add two more runs and we didn’t,” said Coach Baker.

Then, the bats really woke up in the fourth inning for the Locos when they extended the lead 4-1 with a 3-run homerun.

The Graders would score their second and last run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Reilly Hawkins scored on a single by Trevor Snyder.

From then on it was all Locos as they added on 7 more runs in the last four innings of the game. One of those runs being another homerun.

Coach Baker said when asked about the hot bats of the Locos: “When you put them in fastball counts, they take advantage of it.”

The Graders travel to play Licking County Settlers Tuesday.
