Track: Galion wins county meet

The Galion girls and boys track teams displayed a strong performance during the Crawford County Track Meet at Bucyrus High School Friday evening.

The Lady Tigers finished with 204 points, followed by Colonel Crawford (163), Bucyrus (81), Buckeye Central (40), Wynford (15) and Crestline (11). Galion’s boys took first with 187 points, while the Eagles tallied 156 points for second and Wynford at third with 87 points. Bucyrus had 56 points total for fourth place, followed by Buckeye Central (34) and Crestline (6).

Taking first individually for the girls were the 4×200 meter relay team, 4×200 meter relay team, Taylor Valentine (100 meter hurdles), Sydney Hunt (100 meter dash),

Sari Conner (1600 meter run, 800 meter run), Dani Court (Discus Throw), Marisa Gwinner (high, long jump) and Brianna Streib (shot put).

Grabbing first for the Lady Eagles were the 4×800 meter relay team, Callie Ruffener (300 meter hurdles, 200 meter dash, pole vault),and Anna Reffey (3200 meter run).

Gabriella Seibert notched the top spot for Bucyrus’ girls in the 400 meter dash.

Grabbing first for Galion in the boys events were Colin McCulloguh (110 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles), Drake Barnett (100, 200, 400 meter dash), Gavin Ratcliff (discus throw), Colton Moore (high jump), Houston Blair (long jump) and Jacob Staiger (shot put). Galion boys also won the 4×100 meter and 4×400 meter relays.

Taking first for the Eagles were the 4×800 meter relay team, Chad Johnson (800, 1600, 3200 meter run) and Kaleb Landin in the pole vault.
